1. Industry Secret: How to Determine the Materials Used in Your Silicone Hose?
Silicone can be classified into two types: gas phase silicone and precipitated silicone. Gas phase silicone is superior to precipitated silicone in terms of environmental friendliness, adhesion, purity, lifespan, and high-temperature resistance. However, it is also much more expensive than precipitated silicone. The easiest way to determine which type of silicone is used in a finished silicone hose product is by examining the braiding method of its reinforcement layer. If it has a braided reinforcement layer, then it must be gas phase silicone! (Due to technical reasons, precipitated silicone can currently only use a winding reinforcement layer).
2. Industry Secret: Is Your Silicone Hose Really Made with Aramid Reinforcement Layers?
Although aramid reinforcement layers have the potential to withstand high temperatures up to 220°C, there are challenges when it comes to bonding aramid with silicone. Most manufacturers in the market resort to using polyester reinforcement layers that can withstand temperatures up to 180°C due to the difficulties in bonding aramid and silicone.
