🔧 How Does a Radiator Work?
A radiator is a crucial component in a vehicle's cooling system, designed to dissipate heat from the engine to prevent overheating. The process involves several key steps:
Coolant Circulation: Coolant absorbs heat from the engine and becomes hot. This heated coolant is then pumped into the radiator.
Heat Dissipation: Inside the radiator, the hot coolant flows through a series of thin tubes. Attached to these tubes are metal fins that increase the surface area, allowing heat to dissipate more efficiently.
Airflow Cooling: As the vehicle moves, air flows over the radiator fins, or a fan forces air through them. This airflow carries away the heat from the coolant.
Cooled Coolant Return: The now-cooled coolant exits the radiator and recirculates back to the engine to absorb more heat, continuing the cycle.
This process ensures the engine operates within optimal temperature ranges, maintaining performance and preventing damage.
